Medical Massage

What is Medical Massage?

Medical Massage is sometimes defined as massage prescribed by your health care provider, performed with the intention of improving diagnosed pathologies. Medical Massage is generally practiced on patients to bring about a medical goal for health improvement. As a Medical Massage Practitioner, my goal is to apply techniques that positively and directly affect your condition.

A referral from your PCP or Massage prescription is not required for treatment by our clinic. If you wish to receive reimbursement from your insurance provider they may require these things. We accept FSA and HSA payments, but we will not file your insurance or speak to them on your behalf. You will be provided with a receipt after each visit.

Medical Massage Therapy Consultation and Treatment plan

What to Expect During Your
1st Session

It all starts with a phone call. We will schedule a few minutes to discuss your symptoms, diagnosis, actions that make symptoms better or worse, length of condition, and desired outcome from Medical Massage. This is your initial opportunity to ask questions and get to know the Therapist.

The initial visit varies on condition, but will usually consist of a series of assessments which could include gait, range of motion, and palpation. We ask that you wear loose, comfortable clothing during this session.

At the end of the assessment we will discuss the outcome, goals, and develop a treatment plan to help you manage pain, feel relief, or recover from your condition.
